WPBeginner Growth Fund Acquires BuddyBoss

In recent news, Awesome Motive backed WPBeginner Growth Fund acquires BuddyBoss, the highly-regarded theme/plugin. This move took place in early July and marks another significant milestone for the company known for acquiring popular WordPress businesses.

For those unfamiliar, BuddyBoss is a powerful tool designed to help users build online communities with WordPress. It’s perfect for creating membership sites, online courses, forums, or any type of community-driven platform. Originally built as a fork of BuddyPress and bbPress in 2019, BuddyBoss has since established itself as a leading community-building solution.

With the BuddyBoss acquisition, it’s expected that BuddyBoss will be heavily promoted across WPBeginner and other platforms within the Awesome Motive family. Users might also anticipate some adjustments in pricing structures, likely following Awesome Motive’s common strategy of offering significant first-year discounts followed by regular renewal rates.

Existing BuddyBoss users can breathe a sigh of relief as the current team, including General Manager Graham Hoffman, will continue in their roles. However, co-founders Tom and Michael will be departing to focus on their Rapyd managed WordPress hosting service.
